ITALIAN LANGUAGE METHOD AND TEACHERS

All of Romanica’s courses are designed in accordance with the European Council’s modern methods for teaching foreign languages: these methodologies, developed by renowned European specialists in the field of foreign language education, aim to equip students with the necessary language tools so that they are able to communicate effectively according to their own requirements.

The constant contact between students and teachers facilitates an authentic and flexible encounter with the Italian language. Pronunciation, vocabulary and the structures of the Italian language are presented in a real-life context, which compliments a precise grammatical and lexical progression.

The lessons are conducted exclusively in Italian: this technique, which takes into account the threshold level of each student, successively encourages students to develop communication capacities within a very short time.

The teaching program is divided into levels of language acquisition; in order to assure an optimal learning curve, the courses begin with an appropriate written and oral placement test which allows each student to be assessed on their existing level of knowledge and familiarity with the language, and subsequently to be placed in a class group with similar requirements.
The five levels are:
A1 beginner
A2 elementary
B1 intermediate I
B2 intermediate II
C1/C2 advanced
Periodically, the students sit a verification test to assess their achievement to-date and their readiness to advance to the next level of language acquisition.

The teachers assign exercises to complete at home:
memorizing grammar and vocabulary is easy!

At the end of your course, after you have taken the final test, Romanica will present you with an attendance certificate indicating the level of Italian language achieved.
It is possible to request certificates for specific use (with charge).

THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS NECESSARY
TO REACH EACH OF THE VARIOUS LEVELS OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE ACQUISITION,
STARTING FROM BEGINNERS LEVEL:

160-200 hours B1 – INTERMEDIATE I

In order to offer the most up-to-date resources to improve communication and language skills, the teaching material is constantly reviewed and updated to meet the needs of the students. Special texts, exercises, articles, literary extracts, role plays, audio and video exercises are used to stimulate the curiosity of the students and to promote active participation during class time.
