Included as part of your course of study Romanica organizes a program for your free time which parallels the language course in its content. You will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities that will allow you to feel part of the city and to get to know our culture and our history.

Excursions, concerts, traditional and local festivals, visits to museums and other cultural venues, plays, conferences and receptions organized by the school and open to all. This is the best way to encounter new friends and improve your Italian while also enjoying yourself.

You will spend an unusual afternoon experiencing the rituals of a vinegar maker or on a farm observing the phases of production of parmigiano cheese, or in Maranello, discreetly spying on the Ferrari test course or in its factory workshops. You will have the possibility to visit painting exhibitions, to explore the studios of a private television company, to sing along with "Rossini," Italy’s most ancient choral, or simply to sip an aperitif and sit with friends inhaling the intoxicating smells of the delicious dishes of Modena’s celebrated cuisine. Modena is a place to experience, above all at the dinner table!

You can gain even more from your Italian studies by following our seminars on: songs, arts, literature, history, pronunciation and phonetics, cinema, Italian dialects, wine...

Upon your arrival you will receive the program of the complementary activities which wil keep you busy for 6 additional hours each week. Romanica's secretary will be at your disposal to inform you of the most characteristic and entertaining places as well as the cultural events going on in the city and the Emilia-Romagna region.
