Romanica is situated in the historic centre of Modena, in Via Castel Maraldo, facing Piazza della Pomposa and not far away from the Cathedral and Palazzo dei Musei.

If you arrive in Italy by plane, the nearest airport is "Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi" in Bologna, 35 km distant from Modena. 

From Bologna airport it is possible to reach Modena:

- by bus: handy bus shuttle service heading directly to Modena (AERBUS: timetables and fares)

- by train: from Bologna train station, trains to Modena approximately every 30 minutes (TRENITALIA: timetables and fares)

- by taxi: pick up service from Bologna airport to Modena (accommodation address)


Other Italian airports from which it is easy to reach Modena:

- Milano Linate - 30 minutes by bus/metro for Milano central train station + 2 hours by train

- Milano Malpensa - 50 minutes by bus/train for Milano central train station + 2 hours by train

- Roma Fiumicino - 30 minutes by train for Roma Termini train station + 3 hours by train


If you are travelling by train, Modena train station is well connected to the main Italian railway junctions:

From both it is easy to reach the city centre.

During summer season the average temperature is 26° C and nights are pleasantly warm.

In full summer, the temperature can reach even 38° C and the air can become sweltering…

Autumn is quite a rainy season and the average temperature is 17° C approximately.

A peculiar phenomenon is the presence of thick fogs.

During the winter months

the average temperature

drops to 6° C.

Generally, during the cold season, there might be one or two snowfalls.

In springtime the average temperaturerises to 16° C and the weather is very variable:

sunny and fragrant days might be followed by sudden storms.
